Pre-Kindergarten: Amanda Kritzer

Miss Amanda Kritzer has been teaching for the Omaha Catholic schools since moving to Bellevue in 2005. She helped build the preschool program at Assumption-Guadalupe where she spent her first four years teaching. She started teaching pre-kindergarten at St. Mary’s in 2009. She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a focus on Early Childhood Education from Wayne State College in 2003. Miss Amanda enjoys traveling, photography, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

Kindergarten: Marion Lewis

I live in Bellevue with my husband, Mark and four of our nine children. Our youngest two children attend S. Mary’s. I have taught kindergarten at St. Mary’s since 1999, Before that, I taught kindergarten for fifteen years at St. Peter and Paul and one and one half years teaching kindergarten at the La Vista KinderCare. I graduated from Creighton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.

First Grade: Sharon Gaspers

I have been teaching since 1991. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in education from College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska and have continuing education credits from Creighton, Peru State and UNO. Prior to teaching 1st grade I taught 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades. I enjoy traveling, reading, cooking and gardening.

Second Grade: Maureen Sobilo

Mrs. Sobilo has taught at St. Mary’s since 1990. She was the director of Religious Education at Rhein Main AB, Germany before coming to St. Mary’s. Her husband, Dave is retired from the Air Force. They have two children, Kelly and Sean. They also have two dogs, Sophie and Shannon. In her spare time, Mrs. Sobilo likes to travel, read, and do crossword puzzles. She was born and raised in New York and has family who lives in New York and New Jersey.

Third Grade: Diane Embury

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I have experience teaching third grade through eighth grade. My teaching has been in the Catholic School System which includes: St. Rose of Lima in Denison, IA, St. Phillip Neri in Omaha, and St. Mary’s in Bellevue. I have been teaching 3rd grade at St. Mary’s in Bellevue since 1990. I am married and have two daughters, who are graduates of St. Mary’s School.

Fourth Grade: Becky Feagan

Mrs. Becky Feagan has taught fourth grade at St. Mary’s since 1994. She has lived here since 1966 and considers Bellevue her home, though she was born in Germany.  Being a military brat and moving around a lot led to her love of history and the outdoors. Mrs. Feagan loves Nebraska history, especially the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery. She is a member of the BSA and has camped not only along the Lewis and Clark Trail for 4 weeks but also at various scout camps throughout the country. Mrs. Feagan received her teaching degree from Peru State College and has 24 additional hours of graduate work. She and her husband, Doug, have been married for 35 years and have 3 Eagle Scout sons who are all alumni of St. Mary’s. She was honored with the “Who’s Who Among Teachers” for 2005-2006. Currently Mrs. Feagan is the advisor of St. Mary’s Venture Crew 305 (part of the Boys Scouts of America). She enjoys sightseeing, photography, camping and adventure. Our fourth graders are very fortunate to have Mrs. Feagan teaching them about our great state and our great nation.

Fifth Grade: Cindy Menzel

I am beginning my seventh year at St. Mary’s School.  I have taught middle school social studies in Sioux City and at three other parochial schools in Omaha.   My teaching “niche” is middle school.  I truly enjoy this level of student.  I truly enjoy this level of student.

Religion, English, and Literature

Miss Sheridan has been teaching since 1983 in Catholic Schools. All of Miss Sheridan’s experience has been at the middle school level. She came to St. Mary’s School in 2003. She feels very blessed to teach the sixth through eighth grade.
