Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are years of age, OR are 13 years of age and have completed the 8th grade and are under 21 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide a positive experience to help young people mature and prepare them to become responsible adults. 

As a Venturer, I promise to do my duty to God and help strengthen America, to help others, and to seek truth, fairness, and adventure in our world.

Venturing offers opportunities to achieve a variety of awards, of which two are similar to the Boy Scout Eagle and the Girl Scout Gold. First, there is the Ranger Award, which has eight core requirements and two electives (18 totals offered). Other awards include the Venturing Bronze, Gold, and Silver awards. These have a variety of requirements, allowing you to experience a wide range of activities and hobbies. Service projects are also an important component of these awards.
