is onboard!!!! We now have Walmart participating -- and these cards can be used at Sam's Club too! (watch out for falling prices! let's be careful out there!)
Thanks to efforts by members of our parish and with the help of area businesses two years ago, Scrip contributed an extra $6,000 to our parish and education budget. It also resulted in a tuition-reduction of more than $2,600 for parish families who participated. Last year, we hope it contributed an extra $10,000 to our budget. What will in do for you and our parish and education now?
Scrip is fundraising while you shop. What happens is that when families use scrip to shop for everyday items (food, clothing, household items, entertainment) a percentage of those purchases will benefit your parish community. And when you think about it, that can really add up.
Scrip is an effective tool because participants agree to share a percentage of the revenues from purchased scrip for the good of our parish and our education programs. When the parish agrees to purchase scrip at a discount from area businesses and then sells that scrip to parish familes at face value, everyday purchases directly benefit your parish and our education programs at no additional cost to you.
Doing the math with Scrip. If 150 familes were to purchase $7,000 to $14,000 worth of groceries, clothing, eating out, building supplies and other purchases using scrip throughout the year, that could easily result in an extra $40,000 to $80.000 in added revenue for the church for the year, depending on the reduced purchase price of the scrip that businesses offer the the Church and School.
BIG N Marketplace is another way you can earn even more monies for the parish and school! It is very easy, all that is needed is some planning ahead. If you know you want to purchase some clothing from (Lands End), put in an order for Lands End gift cards. Once you receive these, log onto the www.bign.com/stmarysbellevue website and go to the Lands End store. Shop and shop, then when you are checking out, mark the box for paying with gift cards. Most sites let you use up to 5 gift cards. Follow the instructions provided at the site and you have accomplished earning 9% in profits from the scrip card and an additional profit from shopping at this website. It is that easy! And Lands End is just one example, there are many more stores that you can do this with—
